Rovtech Systems have provided the Educational Community with ROV’s (Remotely Operated Vehicles) to study a range of oceanographic subjects. These studies have included a number of deep sea animals, plants and environmental factors.
Rovtech Systems can provide both Water and Electrically Powered ROV’s which are both inert and have an excellent environmental record due to the non use of oils. The power supply is provided, when in deep water, by the ships generator, therefore removing the need for its own power supply. When being used within a test or storage pond, the unit is fed through a generator powered by a normal electrical supply.
In the event of any breakdown/problem, the ROV contains no pollutant and is completely safe to any wildlife or environment being studied. Over time all hydraulic systems will leak causing, in the first instance, potential contamination of the operator and damage of the product. The second possible problem is the impact on the environment being studied.
Through the improvements made in the area of water powered hydraulic ROV’s, the system saves time when making risk assessments on personnel, product and environment. Also it is viewed as a market leader with better Industrial Health Compliance also reducing the benefit of lower insurance costs by demonstrating proof of good management before pollution incidents occur.
Rovtech fit their ROVs with their own high-output lighting systems and broadcast quality cameras. These can be placed in any position on the ROV or attached to any articulated robotic arm. Sampling devices and sensors including Depth, Heading/Direction, Pitch/Roll, Acoustic Sensors, Altimeters, Sonars, C.P, UT Gauges etc can be configured to work in any extreme environment.
